The presentation ceremony of Morningstar Hong Kong Awards 2016 was successfully held on 7 March, 2016 at the Hong Kong Exchange Exhibition Hall.

The presentation ceremony of Morningstar Hong Kong Awards 2016 was successfully held on 7 March, 2016 at the Hong Kong Exchange Exhibition Hall. The Awards recognize retail funds and fund groups that added the most value for investors within the context of their relevant peer group in 2015 and over the longer term.

In his opening speech, Nick Cheung (below), Chief Executive Officer of Morningstar Asia, emphasized that Morningstar fund awards are key to help investors to make better investment decision and to recognize the outstanding achievement in investment management

All the winners’ representatives are invited on stage for a Champagne toasting celebration and market open ceremony of Gong-hit with Morningstar’s Nick Cheung, Jeff Ptak (global head of manager research) and Wing Chan (director of manager research, Asia).

Jeff Ptak (below), Global head of Manager Research of Morningstar talked about our Sustainability Investing Initiative. Sustainable Investing is values-based, value-driven, and impact-oriented. Investors, from institutional investors to mainstream, especially those just starting to accumulate wealth, care about it more and more. Thus, Morningstar is launching a Sustainability rating to help investors think about sustainability and how they wish to see it reflected in their investments.

Wing Chan (below), Director of Fund Research of Morningstar Asia, gave the audience an update on Morningstar Research. The investment teams in Asia plan to broaden their research coverage in Asian Fixed Income (hard/soft currency, high yield, RMB), Asian Small Caps, Japan Equity and Mutual Recognition plays (north and southbound).
