Morningstar Appoints Sunny Ng, CFA as Fund Research Director for Hong Kong

Morningstar announced it has appointed Sunny Ng, CFA to the newly created position of fund research director for Hong Kong.

Morningstar announced it has appointed Sunny Ng, CFA to the newly created position of fund research director for Hong Kong.

 

Ng will be responsible for Morningstar’s qualitative fund research in Hong Kong and other Asian markets, including Singapore and Taiwan. He will report jointly to Christopher Traulsen, Morningstar’s director of European and Asian fund research; and Grant Kennaway, Morningstar’s head of fund research in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

 “We’re excited to welcome Sunny to Morningstar and have him lead our fund research and thought leadership in Hong Kong,” Traulsen said. “We began issuing qualitative fund ratings and research reports in Asia two years ago, and look forward to working with Sunny on expanding our breadth and depth of coverage.”

 

Ng has nearly 10 years of experience in the investment industry. He was previously director and head of alternatives research for Brockhouse Cooper in Canada, where he led the firm’s manager research, report generation, and due diligence efforts in the alternative investment market. Ng also worked at AllianceBernstein Institutional Investments and Investors Group. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University along with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
